Wellington Hollen was born in 1816 in Pendleton, Virginia.^4,5,6,7,8,9 He was the son of Joseph Zebulon Hollen and Margaret Usher.³ Wellington Hollen married Rachel M. Hinkle on 16 November 1837 in Pendleton, Virginia.^1,10 Wellington Hollen married Elizabeth Zinn, daughter of Joseph Zinn and Milley (?), on 20 September 1860 in Barbour, Virginia.³ Wellington Hollen died on 2 June 1880 in Upshur, West Virginia.^4,5
Col. Wellington Hollen moved to Upshur County in the year 1858. He was a mill-wright by trade, and his work was of such superior character that his services were always in demand, when the best was desired. All the better class of grain mills of this section of country were products of his art and skill.²
