    She was born in Barbour County on May 14, 1946, a daughter of the late William Frank and Mabel Martha (Stire) Menear.
    Mrs. Wilfong is survived by her husband of 52 years, Denver S. “Dick” Wilfong Jr.

    In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by two children: son, Brian K. Wilfong and wife Shelly of Virginia Beach, VA, and daughter Michele D. Wilfong of Galloway; three brothers and one sister: William “Junior” Menear of Flemington, Ronnie Menear and wife Connie of Brunswick, GA, Norma McClain of Stonewood, and Neil Menear and wife Connie of Akron, OH; five grandchildren: Lindsay Cook of Morgantown, Nicholas Wilfong of Harrisonburg, VA, Noah Wilfong of Virginia Beach, Abigail “Abbie” Wilfong of Virginia Beach, and Denver Chase Winters of Galloway. Also surviving are Brenda’s good friends: Roy and Cindy Payne, Mike and Judy Maddix, Matt and Christie Weese and their family, as well as her church family.
    In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one brother, James, and one sister, Shelby Jean.
    Brenda was a graduate of Philip Barbour, Class of 1964, and a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Brownton Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, and enjoyed spending time with the other church ladies. Brenda also enjoyed her prayer time, reading Bible books, and was known for her love of seek-a-word puzzle books. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
    Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home in Flemington, WV, on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ruth Higginbotham presiding. Interment will follow at the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

    Russell was born Sept. 24th 1956 in Marlinton WVa, and was a son of the late Nellie Bly Wilfong and James Thurman Copen.
    Russell was preceded in death by a stepfather, Jordan David McMillion, brother, Thurman Brown (John) Copen, Brother in Law, David Slawter, 3 Nephews, Victor Doyle, Kevin Copen and Jason Copen.
    Russell is survived by his son, Jamie Lee Wilfong and his wife Melissa, grandsons, Chad Wilfong and Wade Wilfong, son, Russell Thurman Wilfong all of Burnsville Va., brother, Jimmy Joe Copen and his wife Elizabeth of Monterville, WV, brother, Floyd Thomas (Dude) Copen of Elkins WV, sister, Louise Gertrude Doyle and husband Wriley of Monterville, WV, sister, Linda Lou Slawter Bickel and husband David of Huttonsville WV. Several nieces, nephews and friends, special pet– Marley and Harley.
    Claire Marie Pittinger Wilfong was born March 27, 1958 and was the daughter of Carl Bertram Pittinger and the late Theresa Ann Pittinger in Akron Ohio.
    Claire is survived by 2 sons, Jamie Lee Wilfong wife Melissa, Russell Thurman(Bubs) Wilfong Grandchildren Chad and Wade Wilfong all of Burnsville Va, three sisters, Carla Pittinger and Family, Christine (Tom) Heller & Family, and Theresa Pittinger & Family, two brothers, Carl Pittinger Jr. & Family, and John Pittinger & Family all still residing in Akron Ohio.
    Thomas (Tommy) was born Sept, 17, 1981 at Memorial General in Elkins WV and was a son of Russell and Claire Wilfong.
    Tommy was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Nellie Bly Wilfong McMillion and Jordan David McMillion, grandfather, James Job Thurman Copen, uncle, Thurman Brown (John) Copen. maternal grandmother, Theresa Ann Pittinger, Three cousins, Victor Doyle, Kevin Copen and Jason Copen.
    Tommy is survived by brother, Jamie Lee Wilfong and wife Melissa children, Chad Wilfong and Wade Wilfong, brother, Russell Thurman Wilfong (Bubs) of Burnsville Va., uncles, Jimmy Joe Copen and wife Elizabeth of Montersville WVA and uncle Floyd Thomas (Dude) Copen of Elkins WV, Aunt Louise Gertrude Doyle husband Wriley of Montersville, WVA, aunt, Linda Lou Slawter Bickel and husband Dave of Huttonsville WV. maternal Grandfather Carl Bert Pittinger of Akron Ohio, aunts Carla Pittinger & family.
    Aunt Christine Heller and family Aunt Theresa Pittinger and family Uncle Carl Pittinger Jr and family Uncle John Pittinger and family, all of Ohio.
    Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Lantz Funeral Home with Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating. Burial will follow in the Ruckman Cemetery.
    Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 until time of services at the funeral home.
