Born March 5, 1923 in Norton, West Virginia to Bedford and Mary Trussler Wilfong. He grew up and resided in Rosemont, West Virginia.
    Denver Shearl "Dink" Wilfong
    Dink is a US Navy WWII veteran and a retired Coal Miner of 42 years from Pittston Coal Company. He and Nancy managed a campground/river tubing business in Millville on the Shenandoah River for another 26 years.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy Bays Wilfong, their 13 children: Denver Jr. (Brenda), Galloway, West Virginia; Randy (Jeanie), Weston, West Virginia; Mark (Ann), Rosemont; Tim Gerard, Grafton, West Virginia; Joey (Tina) Gerard, Rosemont; Jane (Leonard) Reger, Lakeland, Florida; Barbara Bolton, Weston; Linda Skidmore, Bridgeport, West Virginia; Peggy Wilfong, Springfield, Ohio; Debbie DePolo, Washington, DC; Dawna Conley (Bob Daidone), Palmetto, Florida; Kim (Bryan) Brewster, San Diego, California and Deneise (Raymond) Bray, Bridgeport; two grandchildren they helped raise as their own, Jason DePolo (Indian Rocks, Florida) and Treasa Chidester (Redondo Beach, California), and 21 other wonderful grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, their pets “Bip”, “BoBo” and “Buttons”; his brothers Bedford Jr. (Belington, West Virginia), John (Flemington, West Virginia); and sisters: Louise Trimble (Rosemont), Nettie Fosselman (Greenville, South Carolina), Shirley Frum (Rosemont), Mary Henley (Dechard, Tennessee), Janet Alexander (Bigfork, Montana); and 38 nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Spencer Wilfong; four brothers: Harold, George, Raymond and Charles; and two sisters: Icy Greathouse and Velva Wilfong.

    A 67-year member of UMWA Local Union 1058 and lifetime member of VFW Post 573 Clarksburg, West Virginia.

    For all who knew Dink, he was well-loved for his devotion to his family, his hard work and his hunting and fishing stories. He will be GREATLY missed.

Wilfong of Galloway; three brothers and one sister: William “Junior” Menear of Flemington, Ronnie Menear and wife Connie of Brunswick, GA, Norma McClain of Stonewood, and Neil Menear and wife Connie of Akron, OH; five grandchildren: Lindsay Cook of Morgantown, Nicholas Wilfong of Harrisonburg, VA, Noah Wilfong of Virginia Beach, Abigail “Abbie” Wilfong of Virginia Beach, and Denver Chase Winters of Galloway. Also surviving are Brenda’s good friends: Roy and Cindy Payne, Mike and Judy Maddix, Matt and Christie Weese and their family, as well as her church family.

Brenda also enjoyed her prayer time, reading Bible books, and was known for her love of seek-a-word puzzle books. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

    FLEMINGTON — Brenda Sue Wilfong, 71, of Galloway, WV, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at the WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
    She was born in Barbour County on May 14, 1946, a daughter of the late William Frank and Mabel Martha (Stire) Menear.
    Mrs. Wilfong is survived by her husband of 52 years, Denver S. “Dick” Wilfong Jr.

    In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by two children: son, Brian K. Wilfong and wife Shelly of Virginia Beach, VA, and daughter Michele D. Wilfong of Galloway; three brothers and one sister: William “Junior” Menear of Flemington, Ronnie Menear and wife Connie of Brunswick, GA, Norma McClain of Stonewood, and Neil Menear and wife Connie of Akron, OH; five grandchildren: Lindsay Cook of Morgantown, Nicholas Wilfong of Harrisonburg, VA, Noah Wilfong of Virginia Beach, Abigail “Abbie” Wilfong of Virginia Beach, and Denver Chase Winters of Galloway. Also surviving are Brenda’s good friends: Roy and Cindy Payne, Mike and Judy Maddix, Matt and Christie Weese and their family, as well as her church family.
    In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one brother, James, and one sister, Shelby Jean.
    Brenda was a graduate of Philip Barbour, Class of 1964, and a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Brownton Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, and enjoyed spending time with the other church ladies. Brenda also enjoyed her prayer time, reading Bible books, and was known for her love of seek-a-word puzzle books. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
