    Donald Francis Teets

Donald Francis Teets, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Newcomerstown on Tuesday the 11th of October, 2016, after a six month unwanted journey with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 6th, 1932 to the late Ambrose and Alice Teets. He attended St. Ann's elementary school in Youngstown and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1950. He joined the U.S. Navy in April 1951 and served aboard the USS John Hood during the Korean Conflict until April 1955. During that time, he met and married his first wife, Pauline Rice, in 1952. After his discharge from the Navy, he and Pauline settled in Cuyahoga Falls and raised their three daughters, Kristine, Lori and Tami. In his younger years, Don had a variety of occupations to include Omar Bakery, the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Chrysler Corp., the Railroad and Lawson Milk Company. He attended The University of Akron for business and went on to partner as an HVAC contractor with Temperature Control and Midwestern Control.

In 1974, he married Roberta Feathers and they resided in Clinton for many happy years with their daughter Jennifer and son Danny. In 2006 Don and Roberta moved to Newcomerstown where they lived until Don's passing.

Don was the patriarch of his family, a unique man who had an unmatched passion and enthusiasm for life. There was just something about this man that people naturally gravitated to. He loved a good thunderstorm, good food, and good times with his large extended family. Don will always be remembered as an incredibly hard worker, for his gift of inspiring others and his ability to turn a hunter's cabin into a lovely home for his beloved Birdy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Blanche and Jean; and stepson, Danny Reeves. He leaves to mourn in his absence, wife, Roberta; daughters, Kristine Mace (Bruce), Lori Habeck (Paul), Tami Carter (Mark), Jennifer Teets (Ron), all of whom reside in the Akron area; brother, Paul Teets (Shirley) of Raleigh, N.C.; nine devoted grandchildren, 22 adoring great-grandchildren (baby Logan due soon), many loving nieces and nephews, along with a host of neighbors and friends. Don has left a void that no person can fill and his death has left us all with heavy hearts. Rest in Peace, Don, Dad and Grandpa, we love you and will miss you so!

Please join us in a celebration of life on Saturday, October 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Addy Funeral Home, 406 W. State St., Newcomerstown, OH 43832. Lunch will follow at The Ravens Glen Winery at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice (Coshocton, Ohio), whose services were very comforting to our family at this very sad time. A special thank you to Katie and Amy.
