Ruth Teets (Brown, Cupchack) passed peacefully Sunday, July 28th surrounded by her family in Wayne, MI.

Ruth was born in Terra Alta, W. Va. in 1932 to the late Theodore and Margaret Teets (Gallagher) but moved with her family to Pittsburgh, PA as a young girl. She was not afraid of new adventures and would continue to move throughout her life. She lived a major part of her life in Inkster, MI and Lakeland, FL. but also lived in Arizona and spent a lot of good times in Leamington, ONT. She was a mother first but later in life went back into the work force. She was not afraid of hard work and was proud of the fact – she spent many years in the restaurant industry and co-owned party stores with her second husband. She was one of the first to ever have a home computer and continued to be quite technically advanced for her generation. Ruthie loved to dance in her early years, the family has many fond memories of her doing the twist at family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Teets in Oct. 2012.

Ruth is survived by her sisters, Rose Ann (aka Cookie) (Jim) Bence and Peggy (John) Sipes, both of Pittsburgh, PA. and her five children: Daughters, Patricia (Bruce) Cavell, Flat Rock; Susan (Roy) Murfin, Solana Beach, Ca; her sons, Frank Brown, Wayne; Ted (Cheryl) Zobb, Wexford, PA; Stephen Brown, Commerce Township. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Janet (Mark) Hetterscheidt, Sandi (Jeff) Woods, Sean (Martha) Cavell, Joanne Brown, Jason Brown, Alex Brown, Matthew Brown, Mitchell Zobb and Daryl (Brittany) Zobb. Ruth has four great-grandchildren, Isabel Gamez-Cavell, Eric Cavell, Hannah Woods and Nathan Woods.

There will be no funeral service, per her request. May God speed until we meet again.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home, Belleville, MI 734-697-9400. www.hnfhome.com.
