She was born Nov. 17, 1914, at Hall, Barbour County, a daughter of the late Philip Sheridan ?Matt? and Dora (Bryan) Zirkle.
On Oct. 10, 1934, she was married to Elmer Clarence Zirkle, who preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Theodore James and wife, Dorothy Zirkle, of Volga and Delbert Scott and wife, Shirley Zirkle, of Lakeland, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Katheryn ?Kathy?) Murphy and Mrs. Carl (Mabel) Campbell and friend, Gene Karickhoff, all of Volga and Mrs. Russell (Betty) Burr, of Sebring, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Gregory (Mabel) Smith, in North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Aubrey Zirkle and Linwood Donald Zirkle; by two sisters, Kathleen Harris and Doris Renaldi; by three brothers, Clifford Booth, Archie Booth and Jesse Booth; by three grandchildren; and by a special friend, Jerald McCauley.
Mrs. Zirkle was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning and quilting. She was a loving mother, friend and neighbor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, from Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 S. Main St., Philippi. The Rev. David Brown and the Rev. Randy Simms will officiate and interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
