    Hi John,
I’d like to start out and introduce myself. My name is Shelley Gilkey, I am the daughter of Constance Sue Johnson, and I am the grand daughter of James Net “J.N. “ Johnson.
I’m not sure if I’ve already sent an email to you… as I’ve been on the genealogical search just recently ago.
I was directed to your website, and all I could say was.. WOW!
I had never seen pictures from my maternal family side, other than my grandparents. This was such an emotional experience for me and it’s hard to describe.
I’ve been trying to research as much about my heritage as possible, in order to present my findings to my mom. She has been battling cancer for nearly two years now, so I am faced with an unexpected deadline.
I just spoke with my mom on the phone a few minutes ago and was telling her all about your site. She asked who it was that put so much work into it. I mentioned your name and she recalls meeting you when she was a teenager. She started telling me a little of what she could remember, that you lived in Texas, etc. It’s such a great thing to hear the excitement in her voice when I tell her about all the intriguing people in her background.
I’ve been stumped on her maternal side, however. I’ve had absolutely no luck in locating any information on Janice Fridley, her birth mother. All I have to go on is what information my mother has given me… that Janice was married at an early age (12- I believe) to J.N. Johnson. She was born in Rocklick, West Virginia and my mother was born in Page, West Virginia.
If you have any information that may help with my search, I’d greatly appreciate it.
As I said, I’m fairly new to the genealogical researching. I’ve downloaded the PAF program and I’m still learning to link others’ files to mine.
Well, I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you the boredom, lol
    Thank you,
    Shelley Gilkey.
