    On Sunday April 10th, 2011, Reverend William Houston Boothe, beloved servant of the lord, husband, father, grandfather and friend went home to be with the Lord following a short illness.

    Born on January 12th, 1941, at Belburn, W.Va., he was the son of the late Kelly and Iva Boothe of Orient Hill, W.Va.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Emogene Boothe and brothers Duard and Ranus Boothe.

    He was a graduate of Crichton High School and a graduate of West Virginia University with both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Education. He taught at both Crighton and Greenbrier West High Schools as well as worked at the Greenbrier County Board of Education office in Lewisburg, W.Va.

    Reverend Boothe began his Christian ministry in 1968. He served as pastor of numerous churches including: Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Quinwood, WV; West Point Baptist Church, Asbury, WV; Hilton Village Baptist Church, Hilton Village, WV; Meadow Grove Baptist Church, Dawson, WV; First Baptist Church of Quinwood, Quinwood, WV; Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV; Ronceverte Baptist Church, Ronceverte, WV; Orient Hill Baptist Church, Orient Hill, WV; Mountain Baptist Church, Carl, WV. Throughout his ministry Reverend Boothe was a dedicated supporter of the West Virginia Baptist Convention/American Baptist Churches USA.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted and loving wife of 45 years Ruth Ann of Quinwood; daughters Beth Toler and husband Kevin of Daniels, W.Va., Cami Watson and husband Brent of Spencer, W.Va.; son, William "Billy" H. Boothe Jr. and wife Monica of Lewes, Del.; grandchildren Grayson Watson, Bryson Watson, and Tyson Watson of Spencer, WV, Ava Boothe and Aidan Boothe of Lewes, Del.

    He is also survived by brother Londus Boothe and wife Shelva of Quinwood, and Darrell Boothe and wife Helen of Chesterton, Ind.; sisters-in-law Peggy Boothe of Warner Robbins, Ga., Jo Ann Ice of Rivesville W.Va. and Barbara Warren of Middletown, N.Y.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    The Celebration of the life and ministry of Rev. Boothe will be 1 p.m. Saturday April 16th, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Quinwood, Quinwood, with Rev. Jim Anderson, Rev. Ronald George and various other ministers officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

    Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday April 15th, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, and one hour prior to funeral service on Saturday.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 1-800-Diabetes (1-800-342-2383) or www.diabetes.org to help find a cure.
