Uriah D. Shrader1

     Uriah D. Shrader was born on 6 March 1836 in Pendleton, Virginia.1 He was the son of Jacob Shrader and Phebe (?).1 Uriah D. Shrader married Mary Layfield, daughter of John Jackson Layfield Sr. and Elizabeth Moats, on 7 October 1858 in Ritchie, Virginia.1 Uriah D. Shrader died on 25 November 1904 in Ritchie, West Virginia, at age 68.1 He was buried after 25 November 1904 in Ritchie, West Virginia.1
     The Shraders were of German descent. Uriah's grandparents came to Pendleton County, WV from Germany. Their son, Jacob, was born in Pendleton County, WV. Uriah was a Corporal in the Union Army, Company "D", 6th WV Infantry. His Father-In-Law, John J. Layfield, Sr., and his Brother-In-Law, George Layfield, were both in the same company.
Residence(s): He was an early settler on the head waters of Devil Hole.
