    MASSILLON, OHIO — Nita M. George Jarvis, 83, formerly of Buckhannon, W.Va., died April 23, 2012 at a Massillon, Ohio nursing home. Nita was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Cecelia George of Buckhannon. Nita was a 1947 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

    Nita was employed at the old Acme Book Store in Buckhannon where she met Rex Jarvis. They were married in August 1948 and had three children: Kay Wittenber, of Boston, Mass; Thomas Jarvis, of Massillon, Ohio; and Danny Jarvis of Kansas City, Mo.

    Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, one-great-granddaughter; sisters Dorothy Gully of Colorado Springs, Colo. And Lorene Kerans-Bailey of Buckhannon and Parkersburg, W.Va. ; one brother Dr. Ronald George of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by one sister, Ileana Mazzei, of Clarksburg and many nieces and nephews.

    Nita was an avid bridge player, a great teller of stories and jokes. She was loved by all she met. Graveside rites will be held at Heavner Cemetery, May 26, 2012 at 1 p.m.
