Mrs. Teets was born in Winchester, Va., on Nov. 2, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Glenn C. Silman and Minnie Swisher Silman Newlin. She graduated from Stephens City High School.
On Aug. 21, 1948, she married Cecil Jackson Teets, who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1986.
In addition to being a homemaker and a mother, Helen had worked for a short while for Gentry Photography in the 60s. She was a partner in her husband's wholesale automotive parts business, Service Parts of Harrisonburg, Inc. from 1967 until their retirement in May 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Lee Tharp and husband, Richard Craig Tharp, and Candace J. Matthews and husband, Thomas (Mickey) Matthews. She was blessed with three grandsons: Zachary C. Tharp, Jacob S. Tharp and Kyle W. Houser; a stepgrandaughter, Morgan J. Matthews. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia Reynolds of Richmond, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn E. Silman of Winchester.
Helen was a baptized member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church. Later in life she attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Keezletown.
