    At the request of the deceased her remains were cremated. Friends will be received on Saturday March 1, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM the funeral hour at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren. Mr. Teets was an educator and dairy farmer. He attended Bridgewater College for three years, Shepherd College for one year, and Duke University for a summer session. He taught school and served as principal of Eglon School, and he taught at the Sell School on Hogback. He was a lifelong member of the Maple Springs Church of the Brethren, director of the Milk Co-op, and a member of the W.Va. Artificial Breeders Association. Friends will be received at the Maple Springs Church of the Brethren, Eglon, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held there on Friday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m., with the Rev.     HORSE SHOE RUN, W.Va. — David Lindsey Teets, 92, Horse Shoe Run, West Virginia, passed away on Nov. 17, 2017, at Dennett Road Nursing Home, Oakland.
    He was born on Aug. 13, 1925, in Eglon, West Virginia, a son of the late William Lindsey and Dora Elma (Fike) Teets.
    He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Wilma Mae Henline Teets; one sister, Elmina Stemple; and four brothers, John, Chester, Charles, and Ellis Teets.


    David is survived by one son, Paul (and Karen) Teets, Horse Shoe Run; three daughters, twins Rita Sue (and Dave) Harsh, Aurora Pike, West Virginia, Mary Lou (and Mike) Miller, Franklin, New York, and Elma Jane (and Joey) Slaubaugh, Silver Lake, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two expected great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Audra Teets, Eglon, West Virginia, and Eileen Rembold, Ona, West Virginia.
    David had been a member of the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren since he was 13 years old. He was a retired dairy farmer and school bus driver. He drove the family milk truck in the 30s and 40s, delivering milk to Thomas and Davis. An article in West Virginia Goldenseal, spring 1999, told the story.
    David graduated from Aurora High School in 1943. He was a past member and president of the Aurora Lions Club, and was a member of the Preston County School Service personnel and enjoyed the dinners and fellowship.
    He was a supervisor for the Monongahela Soil Conservation District for 3-1/2 years, and assistant supervisor for RCD.
    David was always fascinated by and loved trains. He and Wilma Mae traveled throughout the United States and Canada to ride trains.


    Friends will be received this Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Aurora Memorial Building from 3 to 8 p.m., and on Sunday at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren from 1 to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Mark Teets will officiate. Interment will follow in the Texas Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Texas Cemetery, 723 Hog Back Road Eglon, WV 26716.

    Wilma Mae Henline Teets, 85, of the Horse Shoe Run community, died Saturday night, Aug. 15, 2015, in Mon General Hospital after surgery for a broken hip she received from a fall at home.

    She was born April 25, 1930, in Davis, to the late Lawrence Elmer Henline and Sarah Jane Roth Henline. She was raised on a farm in the Texas settlement area of Horse Shoe Run.

    She graduated from Aurora High School in 1947. She started teaching school in the fall of 1947 at Accident and Sell one-room schools. She worked two years as secretary at the Aurora School. She retired from the Preston County Board of Education as a teachers' aide for 22 years at Aurora and Rowlesburg.

    She is survived by her husband, David Lindsey Teets, whom she married June 27, 1948, the first couple married at Bethel Methodist Church by the father of the groom, William Lindsey Teets. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage.

    Also surviving are one son, Paul (Karen) Teets of Horse Shoe Run; twin daughters, Rita Sue (David) Harsh of Amboy and Mary Lou (Mike) Miller of Franklin, N.Y., and daughter, Elma Jane (Joe) Slaubaugh of Silver Lake; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Rembold; niece, Sandra Mincer; and four great-nephews.

    Wilma Mae loved music and was a talented piano and organ player. She played for Bethel United Methodist Church and Maple Spring Brethren Church Choir, Tucker Community Choir, 101 weddings, numerous funerals and many other occasions. She was a member of Bethel (Texas) United Methodist Church of Horse Shoe Run, Farm Women's Club and Preston County Assocication of Retired School Personnel. She loved to quilt and do crafts, jigsaw puzzles and puzzle books.

    Friends will be received today from 2-8 p.m. at Aurora Memorial Building. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Bethel (Texas) United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cheryl George and the Rev. Gary Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in Texas Cemetery.
