    Ezra teets 1874-1953 and Cora Price Teets 1879-1970 lived in Montrose and had 10 children; Charles 1915-1961, Joe 19xx - 1970, Roy 1911 and is the last surviving member of the immediate family, lives in the Gilman Community; Lillian Teets, Mae Teets, Ezra "Jimmy" birthday unknown, but died in 1970; Walter, Raymond 1905 - 1969, Clara and John Edgar Teets, my father-in-law, born 1907 1970. There were four deaths in the year 1970 and all were unrelated.

    John married Esther Johnson, a daughter of Troy and Palestine Johnson on June 3, 1934. He worked at the Inter-Mountain as a printsetter for several years and was very active in the Orlena Methodist Church where he served as Youth Director; was the leader of the Gilman Seneca 4-H Club and was presented his leadership pin for 25 years of service. A flag pole was erected on the premises of the County 4-H Camp in Beverly in his memory. Three children were born to this marriage, Nancy Marie, Richard Paul, and Stanley Earl.

    Nancy was born April 11, 1935 at Montrose and married Gilbert L. Hart, a resident of the Lazy Run Community, in 1953. They had six children, two of whom are deceased; Gilbert Jr. born Aug 28, 1957, and married the former Barbara Coleman on May 28, 1988. Gilbert works for the United Parcel Service and lives in Bridgeport. Gary was born March 11, 1963 and married Melinda Foster in 1990. He lives in Fairmont and manages a shoe store. Beth Ann was born Jan 7, 1972 and is a freshman at Davis & Elkins College. Donna Jean was born Dec 10, 1975 and is still at home. Richard or Paul as he was called by his family was born Oct 12, 1936 at Montrose and died July 18, 1990 in a tragic farming accident. He grew up in the Gilman community and graduated from Elkins High School in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the [unfinished sentence]

    which is now the video shop. On Jan 20, 1959 he married the former Janice Carr, a daughter of Raymond and Enola Carr of the Poe Run community. In 1973 he purchased the old Simmons Slaughterhouse and after a complete renovation operated for 17 years until his death. In 1982 he and his brother Stanley jointly bought the T-Mart in Elkins and in 1985 built the Beverly T-Mart. Richard Paul and Janice lived in Crystal Springs for 26 years on a farm where he raised beef cattle. Two children were born to this marriage, Kimberly and Scott. Kimberly Faith born Jan 17, 1960 and married Jack Hinchman and had one child, Christina Dawn born May 21, 1976; she later married Ralph Hoffman in 1982 and had one child, Jaime Nichole, born Feb 21, 1985. Kimberly works at the T-Mart in Elkins and lives on Wilson Street in Elkins. Richard Scott born Dec 4, 1962 in Elkins and is the manange of Teets Custom Meat. He still lives at home.

    A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.

    Interment will be in Blooming Rose Cemetery.

    Matthew Scott Houser, 24, Independence, Mo., and formerly of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.

    Born Dec. 18, 1980, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of Scotti Blackmon, Frostburg, and Jon F. Houser, Drums, Pa.

    Matthew was a graduate of Northern Garrett High School, where he was involved in football, basketball, and baseball. He received a degree in graphics design from Frostburg State University, where he was also involved in the J.V. football program. He was employed as a computer programmer for ATK Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant, Independence.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Jon J. Houser and wife Audra, and nephew and niece Colton and McKenna Houser, Grantsville; and his maternal grandparents, Ben and Mary Catherine Blackmon, LaPlata.

    Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service.

    Edna Foley Aksamit, 90, North Haven, Conn., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Connecticut Hospice.

    Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Gormania, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Homer and Dora (Manx) Foley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Aksamit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

    Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

    A service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m., at the old Gormania Presbyterian/Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.

    Interment will follow at the Bayard Cemetery.

    The Burdock-Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
