    Looking for info regarding my gg-Grandfather George W. Teets. He was married to Matilda Knight (1800's). They had 7 children: Joshua (my G-GrFthr), Mathias, Wash, Curtis, Albert, Nathan, and dtr Bessie(?). My G-Grfather was born in Hocking County, OH on 12 Jan 1880. The trail goes cold for everyone prior to him. All assistance would be appreciated.

    I think we might be from the same family of Teets'. I have just started doing a family tree and have some info re Mathias Teets. First, was his parents George W. and Matilda Knight Teets? If so, we are on the right track. Here is what I know about Mathias. He was the brother to my G-Grandfather. My G-Grandfather, George Joshua Teets was born on 12 Jan 1880 and died in 1937 when he was hit by a train. His Obituary has his brothers listed as Mathias, Wash, Curtis, Albert, Nathan and Sister Mrs. John Bates. I spoke to my 2nd cousin who said they always referred to the sister as "Aunt Bess" so I assume her name was Bessie. I don't know any more about the brothers. In fact, I am trying to determine info about George W. and Matilda Knight Teets. That is where I am stumped. Additionally, my G-Grandfather was born in Hocking County, Ohio. (if you are not familiar with the state, that is around Logan /Nelsonville Area. I might have and old picture which shows Albert, Curtis, Cotton(Joshua) and Mathias. Any info you can provide me would be very beneficial. If I can be of further assistance, providing we are coming from the same family, let me know. Randy.
