     Arkless Isaiah Sypolt was born on 1 January 1860 in West Virginia.1,3,4,5 He was the son of Eugenus Sypolt and Mary Chidester.2 Arkless Isaiah Sypolt was born on 4 January 1860 in West Virginia.2,3 He married Anna Maria Teets, daughter of Samuel Andrew Teets and Catherine Hardin Van Sickle, on 21 January 1881 in Garrett, Maryland.1,2 Arkless Isaiah Sypolt died on 29 March 1944 in Terra Alta, Preston, West Virginia, at age 84.1,2
     A. I. Sypolt was a member of an early family of Preston County, farmers and home and barn builders in the Sypolt Run area of the county. About 1885 upon marriage, Sypolt obtained some acreage in the town of Terra Alta, on both sides of then N. Main Street adjacent to Highland Cottage grounds; developed lots and being a carpenter, sold lots and built homes for buyers. Later he became a merchant with a store on what is now Washington Avenue, Terra Alta.6
