    He was a former member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where he served as a board member and usher. More recently, he attended and was a board member of Mount View Free Methodist Church.
    He was a former employee of the Monongalia County Board of Education, where he served as head mechanic and school bus driver for more than 36 years. He was active in nursing home ministries in the community. He served on the Health Care Cost Review Association of Monongalia County.
    He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beauty Love Hoffman Stansberry; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Alice Ann) Belmont of Morgantown; one sister Ethel West of Fairmont; one granddaughter, Leah Joyell Stansberry; and three grandsons, George Belmont, Mark Belmont and Brian Belmont.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
    Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and at Mount View Free Methodist Church from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, time of service with the Revs, Henry Garletts and Rusty McClurg officiating.
