Jacob Teets was born circa 1787; he appeared many times between 1804 and 1848 in the Tax Records for Monongalia County (before 1818), in Preston County (after 1818) and in Barbour County after 1845 (see Teets in Tax Records). His father Henry and several of his brothers and sons also appeared in these records.

In the 1800 census in Allegany County, Maryland, there are 2 males between 10 and 16 and in 1810 those same 2 are between 16 and 25. Age ranges in the census for 1800 and 1810 can support Jacob's birth date.

While Jacob seems to appear in census records for 1800 (with parents), 1810, and 1820, his age was explicitly shown as 63 in 1850, and his age was explicitly shown as 72 in 1860. Using this informatiion, his birth date is calculated to be between 1787 or 1788. 1787 was used as his birth date. His birth location is unknown.2,5,6,7,8,9 He was the son of Henry Teets and Mary (?).2,3,4 Jacob Teets married Mary Barbara Miller, daughter of George "Oil" Miller, on 11 August 1806 in Shenandoah, Virginia.10,11,12,13,14 Jacob Teets died between 1861 and 1870 in Preston, West Virginia.8,15
Jacob Teets was also known as Jacob Dietz.12 Jacob Teets was also known as Jacob Deets.6 Jacob Teets was also known as Jacob Tetes.7

He was probably one of the two males age 10 to 15 listed in the household of his father, Henry Teats, in the 1800 Federal Census of Sandy Creek, Allegany, Maryland.16

Jacob Teets appeared on the 1810 Federal Census of Monongalia, Virginia, with a household consisting of one male under age 10 (son an unknown person ), one male age 16 to 25 (himself), one female under 10 (daughter an unknown person ), one female age 16 to 25 (wife Mary Barbara Miller).2 The "Muster Roll of Captain Leonard Cupp's Company" from what is now Preston County, in service in 1812, shows Christian Teets, Michael Teets, Adam Teets, and Jacob Teets. This record is seen in Wiley's "History of Preston County."17 Jacob Teets appeared on the 1820 Federal Census.5 He and Mary Barbara Miller appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Hardy, Virginia, enumerated 19 August 1850. Their daughter Sophia was listed as living with them.6 Jacob Teets and Mary Barbara Miller appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Hardy, Virginia, enumerated 19 June 1860, They were both shown as 72 years of age in this census.7

George is one of Jacob's sons, if you look at the things Raymond Wolfe gave he was one of his kids that there was no information on.
